Like a Strand of Pearls is a perfect representation of my eclectic portfolio and the way my own daily activities, interests, and curiosities inspire what I paint. The piece and its title originated from what I envisioned during a Pilates class when the instructor told the class to “roll along your spine like it’s a strand of pearls.” That vision led me to paint a subject I had wanted to explore—anatomy—in a style I longed to try—hyperrealism—culminating in this unique combination of a skeleton formed from pearls.
